Every lead your funnels capture lands in one place: the Contacts area, which doubles as involve.me's built-in CRM. This guide walks through managing that list day to day, from importing your first contacts to filtering, segmenting, and following up.
Where to Find Your Contacts
Open Contacts from the main navigation. Everything sits in one table: every contact from every funnel, with columns for email, name, phone, the number of submissions they have made, the funnels they came through, and their tags. Search by email or name to jump to anyone.
How to Import Your Contacts
You do not have to wait for submissions to build a list. To bring an existing one in:
Start the import. In Contacts, choose to import, then upload a CSV or paste rows directly, up to 1,000 at a time.
Map each column. Match every column to a native field or one of your custom properties.
Map email. One column has to map to email, the identifier for every contact.
Skip what you do not want. Set any column to the dash option to leave it out, so you import only the data you want.
How to Add Custom Properties
The default fields cover email, name, phone, and address. To store anything else, add custom properties. You can create one when you map a funnel field, during import, or on the fly inside a contact.
Save each property as text, a number, a date, or a yes/no value.
Map answers, scores, outcomes, and hidden fields onto properties, so records fill themselves as people submit.
Use properties for the data that matters to your business, like a loyalty score, plan tier, or lead source.
How to Organize with Tags and Columns
Two tools keep a long list readable. Tag contacts to label them by campaign, segment, or stage, and apply or remove tags in bulk. Then set what you see: open the column settings, choose which properties show as columns, and drag them into the order you want. Your layout is saved in your browser, so the table looks the same next time, and you can reset to defaults whenever you want.
How to Filter and Build Segments
To isolate the people you want, build a filtered view and save it as a segment:
Open the filter panel above the contact table.
Add a condition, then add more and combine them with AND or OR logic.
Save the view as a segment. The segment re-checks each contact as they submit or their data changes, adding or removing them automatically, so it stays current with no manual refresh.
You can filter on:
Submitted in funnel: which funnel a contact completed.
Tag: any tag applied to a contact.
Date added or date updated: when a contact was created or last changed.
Contact property: any custom property, whether text, number, date, or true/false.
Email engagement: opened, clicked, did not open, or did not click.
How to Run Bulk Actions
To act on a whole segment at once, filter or search to narrow the list, then select all matching contacts rather than only the ones on the current page. From there you tag, untag, or delete the entire matching set in one action, whether that is 5 contacts or 5,000.
How to Read a Contact's Timeline
Open any contact to see the full record. Standard details, your custom properties, and tags are grouped into clear categories, and a timeline logs everything the contact has done: funnel starts, submissions, and payments, plus every email sent, opened, and clicked. Unsubscribes and other activity are tracked automatically, so you always have the context before you reach out.
How to Follow Up from Your Contacts
Once a segment is ready, send it into email automation without leaving involve.me. A workflow starts on a completed submission, a payment, or a new contact, then branches on the contact's properties, tags, and segment to decide which emails they get.
Personalize the subject and body with the contact's own data by typing "@" in an email step.
Use the Update Contact action to edit a property while the workflow runs.
Watch every send land back on the contact timeline, next to opens and clicks.
Because the follow-up runs on the same records, you nurture leads with email sequences without wiring up a separate email tool.
Best Practices for a Clean, Useful List
Block junk at capture. Turn on OTP verification so your list fills with real, reachable contacts.
Name tags and properties consistently. Agree on a convention up front so filters and segments stay reliable.
Filter before you act. Narrow to the exact segment, confirm the count, then run your bulk action or start a workflow.
Respect opt-outs. Once a contact unsubscribes, they stop receiving email from any workflow.
Send from your own domain. Connecting your own sending domain improves deliverability and keeps emails on-brand.
Watch your sending health. involve.me tracks your bounce and complaint rates and warns you before it limits sending, so a clean list keeps your emails going out.
Put Your Contact List to Work
Managing contacts well is what makes the follow-up land. Import your list, map the data that matters into properties, segment on the signals you care about, and let email automation do the outreach. Build a lead-generation quiz or start from a funnel template, and every new submission flows into the same organized list.
